POOR, LOW & NO INCOME RESIDENTS ARE BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BY THE CITY OF PALM BAY COUNCIL

In these tough economic times where Florida unemployment is still in double digits with no relief in sight the City Council of Palm Bay has agreed with the only trash collection company available in Palm Bay, Waste Management, to allow them to attach their fees to our already high Water & Sewer Bills.
This has all occurred since a few months ago when WM passed out new trash containers, since then our Water Bill has gone from $50/ month to $72/ month. Prior to that we paid WM $47 every 3 months for refuse removal twice weekly whereas, now since receiving the new containers from WM our bill has actually increased, we are paying more for less service as now we only have once a week pickup! Doesn’t take much of a genius to figure out who is getting the shaft.
The reason we received two containers is one is for waste & the other is for recyclables! They want us to take the time to collect our recyclables that are sellable and place them in a special container so they don’t have to sort these themselves!
Last week WM started repossessing these new containers from households that are behind on their bills! Not only that they would soon thereafter have their water shut down! This is not the end of the bad news, people that have their services shut down are still charged a monthly bill of two separate charges ie: Base Charge $14.65 for sewer and Usage Charges for Water are $9.71 monthly even though you are not receiving any services be it waste removal or Water & Sewer!
Their eventual goal is to accumulate a large enough bill on residents of Palm Bay that they can place liens and eventually foreclose on these residents properties! It is happening as you read this Blog & has been going on for quite some time! The City is taking what were once rights and turning them into privileges, this way they can stop you from having an arguable defense against these greed driven rules & regulations and assert control over you by calling what were once rights now mere privileges! Where does it all end and how could these City Leaders make such rash legislation during a depression! If you were to check out The Brevard Clerk of Courts Website, go to the left side and click on “Official Records”, then type in the “City of Palm Bay”. It will show you how many properties that have existing City liens against them and how many the City has already acquired in this manner! As Patriots I think we need to start a Petition to get rid of these laws & lawmakers before our own properties are taken away! I though the Government was supposed to help during depressions not take unfair advantage! I can be contacted at; webbjames1@gmail for any & all comments! God Bless You All Who Read This, Amen
